Welcome to Epsom Ladies’ Page
My name is Sandra McClelland and I have the honour and pleasure of being Lady Captain in this the Ladies’ Centenary Year at Epsom and together with my lovely hardworking Committee we hope to make this year an extra special one. The annual drive-in with the Club Captain and Junior Captain, took place on Sunday 22nd March in glorious weather. In acknowledgement of the ladies who first joined the Club a hundred years ago I decided to drive in with a Hickory Club and an old Dunlop 65 ball. With knees knocking I managed to get the ball away and the yardage I achieved was 125yds. So my year can only get better!!
We have a thriving and active Ladies Section who compete in EWGA Medal and Stableford competitions on Tuesdays with alternative competitions at weekends for our ladies who work. We play friendly and competitive competitions against other Clubs and together with our Guest Day and Captain’s Prize Day there is something for everyone to enjoy. Many ladies return year after year to our Ladies Open Competition which is held at the beginning of May. Click for the pictures from the 2009 event.
We have 11 girls competing with the boys in a thriving Junior Section and
this year we are hosting the Burhill Junior Girls Competition in May.
The social side of life includes our Bridge Section and regular quiz evenings, which run alongside many other larger events throughout the year.
Our reputation of being a friendly welcoming club, to both existing and new members is widely acknowledged. This year we have welcomed several new lady members and would welcome hearing from you whether you have a formal handicap or not. You can contact Sandra or any of her committee members by telephoning the club on 01372 721666, or emailing us.
