Ladies Section

Welcome to the Epsom Ladies’ Page. The Ladies’ Section of Epsom Golf Club
came into existence on 13th March 1909 with the registration of the first
Associate Lady Member, Mrs Arnold.
Our Lady Captain for this year is Mrs Frances Henderson who is ably supported
by the Ladies Committee and we are actively engaged in planning for our
Centenary in March 2009.
We have a thriving Ladies Section who compete in weekly competitions, mainly,
LGU Medals and Stablefords but with Fun Days, Guest Days Captain’s Prize
Day and our popular Open Day, when we see ladies returning from other clubs
year after year. Additionally there are several internal mixed competitions
as well as our Inter-Club matches, both friendly and competitive, and also
our strong Pearson Team.
We now have 11 girls competing with the boys in a thriving Junior Section,
one of whom was recently awarded the “Recognition of Achievement Award”
by the Society of London Ladies’ Captains.
The social side of life includes our Bridge Section, Snooker Knockouts and regular quiz evenings, which run alongside many other larger events throughout the year.
