Sid Barnes ws a former jump jockey and held a licence between 1951 to 1976. Sid rode approximately 250 winners. He was the leading jockey in Sweden for two seasons.
In later life Sid was a stalwart of our club and he ran a taxi company.
In 1996 Sid donated a claret jug , known as the Sid Barnes Trophy. This is for a fourball matchplay match between the Men and the Juniors
