Lottery

The Longdown Lottery is a fun fund raiser run on behalf of Epsom Golf Club by a committee of 5 members from all sections of the club.

It is open to all fully-paid up members (excluding Pathway members) who are aged 18 and over and it started life in September 2006. The lottery year runs from September 1st until August 31st. One subscription requires an annually renewable payment of £50. The draw number allocated remains whilst a member. All draws are made at club events, generally after competition presentations on a Sunday

2018 was the 13th year of The Lottery. Over £61,000 has been paid out in prizes at the end of the 2018/19 lottery year.

Income

Nearly £50,000 has been used to buy items for the Club at the end of the 2017/18 lottery year. After an initial cash contribution to the club of around £1,400 which was put towards the cost of new lockers in the ladies changing room, the lottery committee decided to allocate lottery donations to specific items as below:

• Chairs for the lounge
• Practice Nets
• AV equipment for the downstairs committee room
• Club Sign by the putting green
• White and Red Tee Markers
• Fridge + blender
• Bain Maries
• 3 x new PC's
• Dyson hand dryer for the gentlemen's cloakroom
• Jet washer for the green keepers
• Sound system for the clubhouse
• Divot bags and holder
• Mower deck for second cut of rough
• Complete update of the Club IT infrastructure
• Tables and chairs for the clubhouse and patio
• Wi-Fi boosters
• Portable whiteboard
• Substantial contribution to upgrading the 1st Tee
• All-weather path for the 1st Tee
