Epsom Golf Club Dress Code
Any person not adhering to the following On-Course and Clubhouse Dress Codes will be asked politely to change or leave the Course / Clubhouse. Only Committee Members and management and staff working on behalf of Epsom Golf Club have the authority to enforce these dress codes, and have full authority to use their discretion in doing so. All Club members have a duty of care for standards at the Club and can exercise this via management and staff as defined above.
On Course dress code
Acceptable
- All proprietary golf-wear produced specifically for the purpose of playing golf.
- Footwear specifically designed for playing golf.
- Ankle or calf length sports socks must be worn with shorts or skirts..
- Smart tailored shorts just above the knee.
- Smart tailored trousers.
- Non-golf shirts with collar and sleeves.
- Head-wear worn as it is designed to be worn.
- Mobile phones must be in silent ringing mode, used only in an emergency and with the consent of their playing partners.
Unacceptable
- Collarless T-shirts, vests, blue denim clothing, track-suits, football shirts and shorts, rugby shirts and shorts, beach-wear, even if they become proprietary golf wear in the future.
- Shirts not tucked into trousers / shorts / skirts unless specifically designed to be worn outside.
- Trainers.
- Golf shoes without socks.
- Normal dress socks unless when wearing long trousers.
- Cargo pants, combat trousers and trousers with drawstring waist or legs.
- Trousers of any description tucked into socks (except Plus-4’s & Plus 2’s).
- Wet weather gear not designed specifically for playing golf.
- Mobile phones being used other than as described above.
Dress code in the Clubhouse, Lounge, Dining Room, Committee Room and President's Room
Acceptable
- Smart casual or formal wear (when applicable).
- All proprietary golf-wear produced specifically for the purpose of playing golf.
- Clean smart footwear, including trainers with or without socks.
- Smart denim jeans without tears / frays.
- Headwear worn for religious purposes
Unacceptable
- Golf shoes of any description are NOT allowed.
- Not wearing any footwear.
- Flip-flops.(this includes Flip Flops ®) or sliders
- Cargo shorts / pants, combat trousers and trousers with drawstring waist or legs.
- T-shirts, vests, denim clothing with tears / frays, track-suits, football shirts and shorts, rugby shirts and shorts, beach wear.
- Soiled clothing of any description.
- Hats and caps must be removed before entering the clubhouse unless worn for religious purposes.
“19th Bar” – The following are acceptable
- Clean golf shoes
- Wet/lightly soiled golf clothes
- Denim jeans without tears / frays
- Clean work clothing - No soiled work clothing
- Cargo Shorts
Use of Mobile Phones
On Course and Practice Areas
Mobile phones must be in silent / vibrate mode, used only in an emergency and with the consent of playing partners prior to commencing a round. They may be used as a range finder with a Golf App in accordance with the rules of golf.
In the Clubhouse
Mobile phones must be in silent / vibrate mode at all times in the clubhouse. They may be used for the purposes of anything other than making or receiving calls but with no media volume. Calls may be made / received only on the patio area, car park or beyond.
